Plots and Pledgers

Posted by on Jan 17, 2013 in Progress Report

I caused a little confusion in my last update for which I apologise. The survey and questionnaires I sent out applied to the £10 pledge tiers and upwards, so the folks at £1, £5 and £8 don’t need to worry for the moment. I should have made that more clear! Sorry.

For those at the £10 tier and above I’ve uploaded your names and website links as they came back from Kickstarter. Could you please check your name and link are as you want them and get back to me if any changes are needed.

In other news, I’ve been told that both the DDF and Writers’ forum will be online at the end of the month and I’m currently in discussion with Michael at Frontier Developments about the potential location in ‘Elite’ space. Once that is confirmed I’ll give you something of a reveal on that aspect of story.

Plot-wise we’re in good shape too. I have an outline now with a number of major and minor character arcs – so far I have nine distinct individuals with some backstory to go with them. I’ve got to include some of the others from pledgers, and will be looking at that in the next couple of weeks.

So, everything is going to plan so far! Of course, if you have any questions, leave them below as comments and I’ll answer them for you.

Many thanks,

  1. Hello Drew,

I watched the update where you demonstrated your very efficient writing method on PC. I understand that you discern the available concept art and this inspires you to write the novel.

I would like to refer you to the January 2013 National Geographic in which there is a really fantastic and comprehensive article about Space exploration:

    Regards and Best Wishes,

    • Thanks for the link, Joe.

      • You’re welcome Drew.

The actual article on the magazine itself is considerably better than the one accessible through the link to the internet site.

The January National Geographic magazine is actually a 125th Anniversary Special Issue. I recommend that you look through it as there are other interesting articles, including one about Microbes, which play a significant role on Earth and logically in any other inhabitable planet both as beneficial and pathological organisms.

        • P.s. The article about Space is on Pages 68 to 81. There are pictures of the interior of a spaceship and the diagrams of the different propulsion units proposed.
