My new project

May 25, 2016

I’ve dropped a few hints about this one in the last few weeks, but we’re almost there with all the planning now. Due to the history behind this project we’ve chosen the date of June 21st this year to announce it formally, which just happens to be the summer solstice. This is definitely a clue to what it is all about!

The UKs most popular 8-bit home computer

The genesis of this project harks right back to the early 1980s, and some unfinished business surrounding a definitive ZX Spectrum game of that halcyon era, though it was ported to other systems and has also recently been brought up to date for modern machines too.

I’ve been able to step back in time in recent months and relive another classic experience from my youth, second only to Elite in the impact it had on me. This is a big deal for me and I fully intend to do it justice. Let’s just say that if you’re a fantasy fan, you’re going to love this.

This is going to be a bit of a departure from what I normally do, but such chances don’t come along every day. If there is one lesson I’ve taken away from the entire ‘Elite’ experience it this – ‘Take every opportunity, grasp it with both hands and … hang on!’

So, in the grand tradition of highlighting that something is coming ‘soon’ (on June 21st 2016!). I present the teaser for my new project. See you next month!
